Film Junk.e

This brand is called Film Junk.e and is a movie-centered experience with $1 movies to rent, as well as a movie subscription box service. This brand is intended for young to mid adults- especially those who have children. Today, the movie industry is saturated with movie streaming platforms and Film Junk.e is intended to offer a large array of rentable movies for cheap. If the users want to have a more involved experience, that is where the subscription box comes into play with two sizes. Both boxes come with a movie code that allows the user to keep the movie in their account as well as a few other miscellaneous snacks and knick knacks that go along with the movie.

There is a digital identity and a physical identity to this brand: the digital includes the website and advertisements while the physical identity includes subscription movie night boxes.

The Website Interface

Some features that are included and encouraged are pre-created movie packs based on the users film history, as well as movie preferences. Some examples include: Dreamworks Originals, Disney Princess Animations, and Classic Romance

The Subscription Boxes

The large box includes more snacks and decorations to enhance the experience of the movie night, whereas the smaller box is more reserved with just a sticker, movie code, box of candy, and branded popcorn box. An example of all the things in the large "Coco" inspired movie subscription box include orange petals, mexican candy, a night of the dead sticker, branded popcorn box, homemade tamale recipe, and a few small strings of Papel picado.

The exterior of the package design is supposed to shield the personalized interior design thus creating a surprise factor. However, there is one hint on the outside of the box and it's a quote from the movie itself. The example above is from the Disney-Pixar movie Coco and the quote is from the character De La Cruz.

Advertisement Interfaces

This was the first stand alone branding project I've done. It took some time to figure out the tone and basic branding pieces (logo, colors, fonts) but overall I learned a lot about creating a system that can interact over different interfaces, as well as learning how I approach branding projects.
Below you can see some of the design process I went through to land on the color scheme, icon, and type treatment.
