An extensive passion project that led to the creation of two books and an interactive journal. With over 75 images between the two books, there is a wide variety of photography styles. The first book of the series is titled "The ABCs of Photography" which discusses major vocabulary terms that would be important for a beginner to learn. The second book of the series is titled "6 Types of Photography" which go through six major types of photography and also discuss some vocabulary terms that were present in the first book of the series. The interactive journal is intended for the reader to go through 30 prompts and have fun with the images they take and to not think about it too much. The purpose of the package is to create a foundation for those wanting to explore the world of photography- not to turn them into experts right away. The first step to photography is practice and I wanted to create a "safe space" for the user to do so.
There are exactly 77 different pictures used between the two books. Each photo idea was planned out before the shoot had started, it was just a matter about getting the perfect shot.
I took over 4,500 photos for this series. Just about 98% of the photos I took were not used for the final print. Worth it.

This was a passion project that began as a gateway to expanding my relationship with photography; I had already been involved with the field before, but in a relaxed way. The new techniques I had to explore, created a drive in me for photography that I never expected. Taking thousands of pictures for the perfect shot is a trial-and-error practice that I learned to love more and continue to apply to my projects I design today.
